
Starting now - Tues., October 27 - Southwest begins a new 72-hour sale.
For short hops, fares are just $25 one-way - and the prices go up depending on how far you want to travel:
Fly up to 375 miles, pay $25 one-way
Fly up to 549 miles, pay $50 one-way
Fly up to 999 miles, pay $75 one-way
And if you fly 1,000 miles or more, you will pay just $100 one way.
NOTE: These fares are good for travel between Dec. 2 -16, and from Jan. 5 - Feb. 10, 2010. Southwest notes that, “the clock is ticking” - you must book by the end of Thurs., Oct. 29. More details at Southwest.

Southwest Airlines kicked off a winter airfare sale that features deals to destinations across the U.S. Find airfare between $59+ each-way and $149+ each-way for travel all the way through February 11, 2010 (14-day advance purchase is required). Before holiday travelers get too excited, though, the airline is quick to point out that “Seats are very limited and won’t be available on some flights between November 24 - December 1, and December 17 - January 3, 2010, especially to popular destinations like Florida and Las Vegas.”

Southwest announced a Fall/Winter Sale, and many of the others quickly joined in. The lower prices affect both large and smaller cities: New York and Midland-Odessa, Philadelphia and Boise - and many points in between.

The sale airfares are good for Tuesday,Wednesday, and Saturday travel from Aug. 18 to Nov. 18, 2009. Purchase your airline ticket by July 30.

If you missed the Southwest Airlines and AirTran airfare sales last week, do not fear. Both airlines have kicked off another round of sales this week. Southwest Airlines is offering airfare from $49+ to $99+ one-way to destinations across the country. AirTran is offering deals as low as $39+ one-way between a range of cities throughout the U.S. (they also have deals to Cancun).
Both airfare sales are good for summer/fall travel (including Labor Day). We should see some matching from legacy airlines, so it should be a good time to shop. Southwest is having an unusual airfare sale - the price you pay is based on how far you fly:
- Travel up to 400 miles, is $30 (one-way)
- Travel between 400 and 750 miles is $60 (one-way)
- Travel over 750 miles is $90 (one-way)
Travel is good between Sept. 9 and Nov. 18 - and note: you only have until midnight tomorrow (Wednesday) to purchase tickets.
