Well, the airlines are definitely back to work in full force now that Thanksgiving travel is behind them. Southwest Airlines and AirTran shook things up by releasing major off-peak holiday airfare sales.
Southwest Airlines airfare sale is for travel on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for travel through March 5, with airfares as low as $49+ to $99+ each way. The sale is for 14-day advance purchase, and the sale ends on 17-December, so you have to act pretty fast.
AirTran’s 10-day advance purchase airfare sale is for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Saturdays (other days could cost you slightly more). The airfare sale is for travel through February 27, but the sale itself ends on December 13.
