Now it’s Delta’s turn to offer relatively cheap tickets in its Holiday Airfare Sale.
Fares run from $59 to $149 each way (not including taxes, fees) - for “peak, off-peak and super off-peak” travel days - for example, the cheapest fares include Thanksgiving Day and the day after; Christmas Day; and January 1.
You must purchase these fares by Nov. 12. Tickets must be purchased 14 days in advance to get the best deal, and note that there are several black-out days including Nov. 28-30 and Dec. 19, 22-23 and more.

It’s been a busy couple of days for the airlines. Yesterday (Oct. 29), we saw an airfare hike when AirTran Airways increased fares by $6 and $10 roundtrip (based on distance) across the bulk of their route system. Within hours, the hike had been matched by multiple carriers.
It’s not all bad news, though. Along with the hike, we have also seen new holiday-specific airfare deals from a range of airlines. These price drops can be found to thousands of destinations across the country. For now, many of the deals focus on smaller markets. The new fares (which vary depending on route) are good for travel on Nov. 22 and 23, Nov. 26 and 27, Dec. 2, Dec. 12 - 15, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1.

The airfare sales continue. United Airlines has kicked off a holiday airfare sale featuring deals to destinations across the U.S. and Canada. Sale fares are good for select travel dates between November 19, 2009 and January 4, 2010.
UA has broken the airfares into “good,” “better,” and “best,” so some days over the holidays are still cheaper to fly on than others. Deals also require a 14-day advance purchase and a 3-night, Friday night or Saturday night minimum stay.

Virgin America is offering scary good deals for travel on October 30 and October 31. Their “No Trick, Just Treats” airfare sale features one-way West Coast airfare for as low $31+ and one-way coast-to-coast airfare for as low as $62+.

Virgin America (VX) and Google have teamed up for the holiday travel season. With the help of Google, VX will provide free WiFi for passengers on flights from Nov. 10, 2009 - Jan. 15, 2010.
To celebrate the WiFi news and the coming holiday season, Virgin America has kicked off a one-day airfare sale. You can find cheap flights for as low as $39+ each-way. The sale ends at 7 AM Pacific Time tomorrow (Oct. 20, 2009), and there are blackout dates. United Airlines got the ball rolling, and now other airlines have joined in on Columbus Day (Oct. 12) airfare sales. These sales are good for a number of days around the holiday - with deals like Los Angeles to Orlando, $219 roundtrip total.
