Sesame Street turned 40 this week (wow, that makes me feel old)! Google has marked the occasion by featuring pictures of famous Sesame Street characters each day, and talk show hosts have made Big Bird, Bert & Ernie, and the rest of the gang a major topic.
If you want to give the kids a chance to meet their favorite Sesame Street characters up close, catch live shows, and ride some rides, you can take them to Sesame Place. Back in my time, there were Sesame Places all over, but now, it’s a major amusement park located in Langhorne, PA that features holiday events, rides, parades, and much more.
Search FareCompare for cheap flights to Philadelphia (Langhorne isn’t far), and start planning your trip. (This post was brought to you by the letter “A”)

The AL and NL pennants are up for grabs, and the World Series is just around the corner. Football is back, and at least for a couple of weeks fans of all teams can keep that Super Bowl dream alive (OK, maybe not all teams, but you know what I’m saying). Whether you see your favorite team making it all the way to February or not, you can still be a part of it. This year’s Super Bowl is on February 7, 2010 in Miami. Next season, the big game comes to the new home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, TX on February 6, 2011. Even if you never get to wear the ring, you can still go to the game and take part in the week of festivities.
Search FareCompare for cheap flights to Miami and Dallas/Ft. Worth when you’re ready to start planning. Also, you don’t have to limit yourself to post-season play. Check out our Deal Finder-Football Fan tool for cheap flights from your hometown to the homes of every team in the league, and catch some regular season action.
