Holiday travel season is almost upon us. If you haven’t booked your flight for Thanksgiving or Christmas, there’s still time, but if you’re not careful, you could end up breaking the bank.
Airlines have kicked off new peak travel surcharges for select days over the holidays that can add an extra $20 one-way to your flight. On the positive side, airlines have launched holiday airfare sales, but many still include blackout dates, and even some that don’t still feature “Good,” “Better,” and “Best” fares or something of the like, making it clear that some days over the holidays are still cheaper to fly on than others.
Check out our Deal Finder for holiday airfare deals from your hometown to destinations all over the world and for easy-to-use calendars that show you the cheapest days to fly over Thanksgiving and Christmas (or any other time of year for that matter).
