Southwest Airlines announced that they could kickoff as many as 10 daily departures from Milwaukee when they launch their services out of General Mitchell International Airport this November. The move to Milwaukee will put Southwest in direct competition with AirTran and Midwest Airlines. This doesn’t seem to be lost on AirTran, as the carrier just announced that it will launch new routes from Milwaukee. Competition is usually a good thing for travelers, and AirTran’s new routes already feature introductory deals.
