Skiiers, heads up! Just got a nice little newsletter from American touting the wonders of Vail, which got me to thinking - wouldn’t that be a very nice trip… So, I went to the site, and entered LAX to Denver (Vail is just another 80 miles down the road - well, up the road) - and on a whim, I put in Dec. 6 departure and Dec. 13 return (both Saturdays - Saturdays are cheap days to travel on). Total out-the-door price, including all taxes, fees, etc.? A mere $179 round-trip, total. Now that’s a deal. |

Delta has an airfare sale on flights to Hawaii. This is something we haven’t seen much of lately, that’s for sure. Their one-way prices range from $229+ to $299+ - and departures are restricted to Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Atlanta. There is a 7-day advance purchase requirement, and you must book by Nov. 19. Also, note: you cannot travel on a Saturday. See more details right here. |

Depending on how flexible you can be, there are some excellent deals here. Northwest has fares as low as $49+ each way, for travel in the U.S. and Canada, for travel between Nov. 20 and Jan. 5. The best part is, there’s an easy-to-read calendar that shows you the blackout dates (surprisingly few!) and clearly marked “cheapest days to fly”. Sample fares:
Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 26. Here are the details - I’d jump on this one. |

Right now, Spirit Airlines is advertising $2+ fares. And they have lots more specials, for just a couple of bucks more. Nice thing: they show you a chart with available dates for these fares so there are no surprises. And hurry, since you have to book by Oct. 29. Now, I have a big, big question: How much lower can these fares go? In other words, is Spirit soon going to start paying us to fly? |
