Viva Aerobus, the low-cost Mexican Airline, starts service from Austin to Cancun and Monterrey on May 1st, and to kick things off they’ve launched an airfare sale that features tickets as low as $9.99+. That’s $9.99+ from Austin to Cancun and Monterrey. $9.99 barely buys you enough gas to get from Austin to Roundrock, so this IS a deal (and thanks to the folks at Sky Talk for tipping us off). Tickets must be purchased five weeks in advance, and seats are limited, so plan your trip and book it NOW. |

We’re glad we could tip you off about this one! We certainly get plenty of fare tips from you guys.

I need to travel to Durango or Monterrey as well as Mexico City.
What are the best rates. Comofort is not problem.

Why would I fly on an airline out of Austin that has no frills when it costs $1228? It only cost $300 on funjet.com with Aero Mexico and it comes with frills. Where are these $9.99 flights (plus tax obviously)?

The $9.99 flights do have tax, but still they do not cost $1228 US Dollars. They probably cost $1228 mexican pesos. This means that they cost max $130 US Dollars.
