Northwest Airlines “Tweaks” Continental and Offers Great Deals

Filed under: Daily Deals — mike @ 1:09 pm

The 10:00 am EST airfare distribution highlighted what we at FareCompare like to call the “airline tweak.” It’s what happens when, for one reason or another, an airline takes direct aim at a competitor, and almost dares them to match a new low airfare.

Case in point: Northwest Airlines is offering fares as low as $98+ rt out of Cleveland and Houston to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Cleveland and Houston are both hubs of Continental Airlines. We have a classic “tweak” on our hands, which is almost always a good thing for the consumer.
